The Path of Conscious Living: Mind-Heart Synergy
Throughout our lives we are mostly in thinking and thereby in doing mode. The difference between the two scenarios is fear and its absence of it. Fear of survival, fear of alienating and potentially losing the spouse, fear of not achieving expectations in our agreements – contractual or implied, etc. However, releasing fear is not easy. It requires that we distance our selves from our obligations – not in the sense that we just drop them but allow our selves to factor in some “self-time” whenever possible, with the aim to live in that frame of mind and frame of Heart. We need to find the strength and the inspiration to undo our own conditioning and create room in our consciousness for our true Self to emerge and sustain our conscious self. You might ask now, “why”? A valid question. Apart from the fact that conditioning is bad for our individual and collective health, to borrow the warning that most of us have seen on cigarette packs, conditioning is hindering our progress in consciousness evolution, by hindering the development of the unburdened mind.
But how do we get there, you might ask? What is the foundation of all this? How can we “be” like this…? Well, you just said it. Just “be”. The mind seeks answers, but the answers are already inside us. We just need to understand the “questions” to the “answers”. Imagine that you are all the “answers” that are. For example, “Why am I alive?” The why is the question, and life is the answer. The “questions” don’t exist in this every-day, mundane level of existence. They spring forth from Spirit, which is infinite and exists outside space and time. Traditional problem-solving processes of the mind rely on mundane concepts and are therefore hopelessly outdated and as such totally ineffective, leading us into logical dead ends. Utilizing the mind in its current capacity is limited at best and dangerous at worst, because of the effects of polarization. We are not just human; only a part of us is human. Most of our essence is infinite and therefore cannot be expressed in human or linear terms. We are brilliant, immortal and multidimensional beings, having a mundane, Earthly experience.
So… how do you ground this multidimensional essence onto this Earthly plane? Easy… Just be, don’t think. You can’t do both anyway. You can either think using your mind or be using your Heart. When the mind seeks answers, it is leading you in circles and to dead ends, because it will find only inadequate half-truths, complex and impractical explanations to satisfy itself, and a frustrating maze of ever-expanding theory, to keep up with the results that this mind process yields. That’s because the mind’s capacity to hold infinity does not exist yet. Once the Heart complements the mind, it can “work” with the Heart to reach results that it would not be able to reach on its own. The mind is good for one thing: analysis; breaking down a concept into its parts. There is nothing more to gain through the mind from the sum of all analyzed parts of whatever it is analyzing. It is in the Heart where the sum of all parts of something makes visceral sense, extracting inspired conclusions that the mind is incapable to produce.
Consciousness has access to both the mind and the Heart, and it needs both tools to expand itself. A hammer is only good for hammering and a drill can only drill. Mind and Heart are two different tools that need each other to complement their strengths. We need to use them appropriately in a blended way. This way they will both jump to provide insights in divine time, on their own, when those insights are needed and our consciousness will “know” automagically which one has to jump – if we let it. Where logic doesn’t make sense on its own, the Heart offers ways to support it. Where blind, unguided faith is counterproductive, the mind suggests avenues of potential. The opposite is also the case. Where logic makes sense, the Heart offers correctional wisdom through other perspectives and where faith in a certain abstract concept makes sense in the Heart, logic offers doubt that provides correctional guidance to the Heart, strengthening both mind and Heart in the process. When mind and Heart work in tandem, and within their own domains, yet connected through the bridge between them, they can provide a guidance that’s more effective than guidance offered only by the mind or only by the Heart.
However, what would happen, if we allowed that connection between mind and Heart to work behind the scenes so to speak, allowing both the mind and the Heart the freedom to interact and communicate with each other autonomously, without the mind’s supervision, which is a less harsh way of referring to control of the Heart by the mind? How would our lives unfold if we were to surrender to a blended mind and Heart lending a shared direction to our lives? This is when miracles happen. An unburdened mind liberated by its need to control and judge is free to experience the essence of the Heart. The mind without the Heart is finite. If the Heart is allowed to become the guiding force in our lives, replacing and succeeding the mind in this role, then the mind is liberated by the shackles of structured conditioning and is imbued by the unstructured, loving infinity that’s overflowing from the Heart. The mind and the Heart are two halves, like all polarities. After blending they represent more than the sum of the whole and offer a radical new way of being, that will revolutionize all aspects of the way we live. This way we don’t just live, but we derive experience from existence. In other words, we live on steroids. We utilize the whole of our being and exist in an empowered and far more expanded way. We all must carve our own path to understanding and grokking this new way of existing.
Inner work is of the utmost importance, as this path is riddled with challenges that are unique to our individual evolutionary level. What may work for John might not work for Mary and what hasn’t worked for Liz, could work for Nick. We are all unique drops of the one, infinite universal consciousness, and each individual consciousness evolution is different.
